You might just be lucky. Alternatively: I think there's some research indicating that pests are attracted to people with higher concentrations of lactic acid in their body. Maybe you've got a low lactic acid rate.

I’ve had one tick. That was one too many. Now I spray with permethrin. Anecdotally, I think they’re attracted to certain people, either blood type or diet or natural odor. I know some people who can seem to attract ticks with a simple trip to the mailbox. Then there’s people like me who never get them.

Very interesting. It seems that blood type B is their least favorite. Not sure what blood type I have but I'll try to find out.
I also probably produce less lactic acid than most people since I grew up a competitive distance swimmer.
