A thread could sit in the catalog for a full week without any replies, which was nice because you could go on a weekend trip, then update the thread once you got back with pics
now the thread creation rate is so fast that garbage threads keep pushing any legitimate discussion/OC threads off. It takes time and effort to go outside, take pictures, and return to /out/ to post them. It only takes 5 seconds to post a shitty pepe picture from reddit and kill off a legitimate thread
