Realistically speaking could my wife and I be self sustainable?
>inherited family farm of 300 acres
>historically used as cow/tobacco farm
>dad used it as a hobby and had around 10 cows
>ideally I’d like to grow 80% of veggies we eat and all of the meat
>wife doesn’t work watches the kids
>my income is from rentals
How realistic is this desire? Growing up my dad always had a garden and such but never anything large scale like a years worth of onions, he also never raised hogs or chickens. Not only that but my mom never preserved food so I’m not sure how to go about that. I just hate all of the additives in food and I hate society, my wife and I are happy being insular people not needing to go out into society, however this may just be a pipe dream that we can’t do. Although I don’t know why we couldn’t since that’s how everyone lived in the not too distant past
