I can tell from your attitude that you have no idea how genetics works and have never had to deal with a bunch of smug-sounding parents giving clueless and totally wrong advice on how to deal with a crazy child.
In fact I knew parents who were like that themselves after two easygoing boys until the youngest showed up and was a nightmare of constant defiance and power struggles. Same diet, same environment, same parenting style, totally different personality on the child.
It's no excuse for being lazy with discipline there are certainly parents guilty of that, but more often than not people like you are just looking for reasons to pat yourself on the back for being a good parent when your good kid is mostly the result of good genes and good luck.
