I went near the Mohave desert today. And despite going with proper preparation, it was unbearable. I'm from the North, and I'm more acclimated to colder weather so I'm sure this had something to do with it. But 111.5 degrees in the shade according to my barometer, and 117.0 according to online sources... Apparently it regularly goes to 120+, and 130+ is not unheard of. There are actually communities of people living in broken down RV's with no AC or running water with the exception of what they have for drinking. It's amazing how people live in those climates. Or how anything survives in those areas. Any other anon's have experiences with deserts? Honestly it was extremely eye opening for me. I knew they were harsh but they seem almost unsurvivable for those who get lost in them, and have no experience with them.
