I have a skin condition which means I have to avoid spending time in the sun and have to wear factor 50 sun protection.

I am looking for hats with a wide brim, so far military style boonie hats seem to be the best bang for the buck/pound.

Any other recommendations?

OP here, I already have a hat like this, I took off the velcro panel off the top as I don't need it and it looks spergy, but I'm looking for something with a larger brim now.

Those fuckers can get too hot for me. I have one that I wear in 75°f or lower. By 80° it gets too hot. You want some kind of mesh just above the brim in my opinion

I have this and like it. It's not much wider of a brim than the average boonie, but it has mesh ventilation. Beware though, if you are bald near the mesh you will get burnt through it I'm sure. Alternatively, just look for a boonie hat that has an oversized brim, they make plenty of them. Might be listed under sun hats, beach hats, or farming hats.

using the front snap to secure it around the front of your neck has worked for me when it gets windy. only downfall is it looks even dumber then.

Hats like this are my go to for summer, for autumn/winter a waxed cotton outback hat does the job. Boonies and bucket hats are also great.
