>>2147009I do want a bivy, or bedroll, with a tarp
My plan is pretty much exactly like
>>2144003 with the tarp coming out, then wrapping back under as an under sheet. Except my tarp is actually long enough that I can make a wall on one end.
The tarp also goes over the seat, tank, etc so there's no worry of rain dripping down into it. There is however a risk of pooling at the open end of the tarp, maybe if I pull the tarp in a bit more the high part will stop the rain from coming in.
Then I want to put a bivy or bedroll inside that.
I have done it with just the sleeping bag in the tarp, but was constantly worried about damaging the sleeping bag, and the mosquitoes were bad so I had to wear one of those hat nets over me while I slept.
I think that sort of bivy bag would be nice because then I don't have to worry about damaging the bag. I think if I just sleep in that bivy with the net open I wouldn't have to worry so much about condensation right?
>>2147014In my case my bike is beside me. It's decently loud so I'd put my hope in that it would scare the bear away.
I was in the process of getting a gun before c19 shut down the licensing centers. So that too.
I don't think a nylon tent is much more protection against them.
There are also these tents, but they're pricey, and I'm not sure I trust the whole hipster aesthetic. the sort of A frame makes me think there's be more condensation too.
The do however have doors/nets on both sides so maybe the condensation wouldn't be too bad?
