So I've made the decision that very soon I will be embarking on a cross-country trip for an indeterminate amount of time. I plan on camping often. I have some rudimentary gear, a tent, sleeping bag, general first-aid/emergency provisions, firestarter, the gist of what you would find on any camping essential list. The only thing I lack as of right now is a sleeping pad, which I'm unsure if I'll need now that it is summer.
I have never boondocked, and have (very) little camping experience in park campgrounds. My intention is to camp as often as possible, especially as I get further out west. I am looking to be as frugal as possible and mostly camp in national forest/blm land. I have some company planning to come with me. I am undecided as to whether or not to bring a firearm.
Am I gonna fucking die?
