I have the Lynx 2 from ALPS Mountaineering. Got it on Amazon. The prices have gone up, but the Lynx 1 (the one person version) is still under $100 and theyre fantastic budget tents. Set up is fast and easy its light enough for how cheap it is, and its actually waterproof out of the box.
I bought the two person so I could bring my gear inside, but in retrospect should have gotten the 1 person because putting my bag in the vestibule is sufficient, even in rain, and it would have saved me a lot of weight (4lbs vs 6lbs)

I agree with him in that the Lynx is muggy as fuck with the rain fly on, but its very comfortable with it off. With the fly on, what I've found makes it a lot more tolerable on rainy nights is to open the doors and tie them back. The fly keeps the rain out, the rain suppresses the bugs, and the open doors allow a lot more airflow.

Get a pair of Skechers. If you can, something from their ‘trail’ range (like the ‘Escaper’). I got a pair for £40 and I’ve already done the John Muir Way, Ben Nevis, and West Highland Way in them this year. Seemed to be far better off than folk in £200 boots (I used to be one of those people but I’ll never look back now).

Quecha 2 seconds F&B from Decathlon. It's no /ultralight/ tent amd it's p big when packed but it's cheap and easy to set up/pack and it's dark inside if you're like me and like to be awake untill dawn.

you can get free fuel canisters from backpacker's hostels.
thru-hikers, trampers and other /out/fags leave behind canisters all the time, usually anywhere from 1/4 to 7/8ths full.
they cost money to be disposed of, so the hostels rarely throw them away unless they're absolutely falling over the things.
so most of the time they'll gladly give you literally as many cans of free gas as you want.

I suddenly got nervous and paranoid about not being /prepped/ enough and being poor I've just settled for a big cheap tarp and line to make a windshield with and stocked a 25 kg sack of rice, some kilos of beans, salt and 2x 25 litres of water.
It didn't hurt my small margins and will be expanded with a pedalling generator for recharging the 12.000 mAh USB power bank.
I will also invest in a plastic barrel and stash half of the supplies underground inna woods.

Being poor just means things take a little longer and being sober and keeping focus becomes more important.

A couple of the extremely cheap backpacks (NH100 10 and 20L)
A couple of knives (Solognac Sika 90)
And a few other things.
Thinking about buying their 25€ tent, because I can't justify spending more to go camping 2 or 3 times a years in nice weather. At the same time I really want a Naturehike CloudUp 1 tent, but at 3 times the price for no real discernible advantage for my use...yeah.

No, he's right. A few years ago film was the poorfag option because cameras and lenses were cheap and development cost pennies. Now all the one hour photo places are gone, so you gotta pay to ship your film out, those guys charge 3x as much to develop it, thwn you gotta pay to ship it back. Gear prices fucking exploded because hipster zoomers got all hard dick for film shit and fucked up the cheap used equipment market
t. Filmfag mad that my "cheap" option costs more in a year than my expensive digital setup did.

if you had indepth knowledge about old camera models then yes a apc-c pentax could be found for 50$ that works astonishingly- but not in any fashion that any old anon will be able to handle

diy is the key to saving. Buy lens adapters or print your own, but you have to know the scope of the market on the time axis in any case and there wont be any magazines

digital cameras have more or less started to plateau over the last few years and years
for an amateur photographer a decent used mirrorless is more than theyll ever need
thats not to mention youre objectively incorrect about film being cheap
yes you can buy old body and lens for peanuts but the film itself and development quickly becomes more expensive than spending 300-500 on a mirrorless+lens
not to mention that i dont care about your pretentious gearfagging and dont have time to spend hundreds of hours researching some obscure camera preferences of internet autists

Film photography enthusiast here — do not bother with disposable cameras, no point. Get an old soviet, german or american 135. It will be much more enjoyable, it is a long lasting solution, and you might be able to learn something. They are cheap too, slightly more expensive than disposable ones, but if you figure it's not something for you, then you can sell it with no loose.

Don't be a nigger, don't buy single use plastic shit, but old, hard plastic and metal things that can take a beating.

I got a lc-2 medium alice pack at my local goodwill a couple of days ago. It has the frame and kidney belt, but no liners. Spent all of $15.

I intend to use it for solo motocamping, and I can be better organized with a load as opposed to the certifiably ancient trapper nelson I've used occasionally.

poor people are poor from poor choices. it's better to save until you have 250 dollars to buy a good quality sleeping bag that will last 500 uses, is lighter, more compact, warmer, more durable and higher quality than blow 50 bucks on a bulky, heavy, less versatile bag that only gets you 10 nights of use before its not serviceable anymore. poor choices and instant gratification keep you poor long term.
