by what method did u replace the strap with was it easy and what mm band? I am usually very much against modifying the face of casios but that would look even cleaner without the illuminator and world time as long as its not raised or embossed

Casio outdoor watches are pretty awesome. I have a 17 year old Pro-Trek (pic related) that is still fully functional. Altimeter and Barometer features are actually kinda useful if you know how to read/calibrate them properly.

Only thing about these watches is the temp feature is totally inaccurate unless you want to measure water temp while swimming, I've had several smart watches which measure temp and it's always the same story.

it hasn't been through any hard nocks. To be honest I only use it for fishing and pic related gets to stay on wrist through the week. Lots of tiny scratches on the acrylic though, I will be polishing it soon. I would have gotten a digital but I can't find any that are small and have the visibility you get from physical hands/dial

I bought a 24mm and using a tape measure and my watch, marked where the lugs start. Cut in with scissors to 18mm and used a lighter to get rid of threads. Took a few tries with the tool but got it eventually. The pins have a tendency to ping off so look out for that.

i broke 3 watches during 9 years and 2 of those were sold to me as outdoor variety
granted it does get stuck almost every time i throw on my backpack and is a nuisance while flyfishing but having no batteries and the fact that i cant break it makes me sleep good every night

I've just picked up a Garmin Fenix 6X Pro with the intention of using it for /out/ stuff. Maps could be better as there's no option for getting OS Maps on there (at least not easily) but everything else on it seems pretty great.
