How did I do?

No.2147644 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Just wanted a cheap, decent quality hatchet and a good knife that also wasn't too expensive.

>Buck 119 special with sheath: $60
>Cheap ass maple handle "woods" brand hatchet that seemed to have a good weight, balance and build quality: $25

All the other hatchets at the store I was at were made like tomahawks, had tiny little heads that wouldn't split wood effectively and were plastic/metal handles that practically gave me carpal tunnel just looking at them. This one was actually the objectively best axe and it was like 1/5 to 1/10 the price. I think I'll get more use out of 5+ of these cheap a axes (that are almost certainly easier and better to use) than a $200 vibration machine.

I have nothing to really say about the knife other than buck brand knives are ridiculously well built, have lifetime warranties, and there's a good chance I'll be able to pass this onto my grand children in good condition 40 years from now
