In 2016, I met up with a guy from /out/ at my father's house in Louisiana, during my initial separation with my ex-wife, to start the Pacific Crest Trail together. I was 21 at the time and was thinking about suicide quite a lot.
We not only met up in person off 4chan before hand in Shreveport, but also stayed at Froto and Scout's home in San Diego and started the trail together.
He ditched me day 1. Before the PCT, I had never been camping more than a night in my life. I skipped massive sections and identified as hiker trash just "out there" looking for peace with my previous relationship.
