my grandfather taught me how when i was young, and it's stuck with me. i think i have better luck with flat rocks with round edges, but if it's too circular it can be tricky to flick it properly. still one of my favourite things to do when i go to the lake, rest in peace grandpa

Me and some buddies would skip rocks in the creek that ran behind my aunts house. Up stream there was a rock that stuck out of the bank that was a little bigger than a car tire, if you hit it you won. Down stream the creek kinda split down the middle and there was a small island in the middle of the water where it got shallow, if you skipped a rock and landed it on the island you won. There was also a dead tree with a branch that hung out over the water with a bunch of holes in it. We would try and throw rocks in the holes of the branch. It was good fun. Here is our spot

I don't know why the fuck the picture is turned that way but oh well. You can see the rock sticking out of the bank up ahead there if you zoom and the dead half a tree on the right os the tree we threw rocks at. I still go there every once in a while.
