walking down a logging road that had been abandoned since the late 40s early 50s. you could hardly tell the road had ever been there besides the fact that very few trees or larger brush had managed to take hold along that strip and the odd heavily rusted sign or decayed gate along the vauge path. my grandfather had worked as a logger in that area after coming home from ww2 so theres a good likelyhood that the forest I was wandering through had been right where he had logged. it was amasing to feel like I was wandering the same road he had at my age and also beautiful to see something that 70 years ago had been a clearcut fourishing as a beautiful dense forest that was chipping away at the final stubourn signs that humanity had ever been there at all.

Approximately this. Doesn’t have a name. There wasn’t much track to speak of. There are huts but you have to figure out a lot of it yourself.
Weather report was wrong, started shitting down on 2nd night. Ended up having to do a lot of it on the river bank opposite the track due to flooding and in a misty valley so was pretty challenging to keep our location with map and speed estimation. Ended up having a rest day once we got out of the valley mainly to dry out.
Snowed last couple of days, so more low vis, never saw much for 75%.
It was one of those trips where you just get punished but feel good about it. That was a long time ago too, must have been 3rd or 4th year at high school because the guy I went with moved before final year.
