How do you recommend I stay clean while doing a 5 day hike, This will be my most ambitious outing.

Showering is the only luxury I miss on multi-day hikes. I did a six day trip last month and on the third day dropped into a pub in a village that was on the route. The place was empty but they’re used walkers dropping in. I got talking to the publican and his wife and, after an hour, they offered to let me use their shower upstairs. It was kind of weird but I couldn’t resist a proper scrub. They’ve probably got video of me now.

what these anons say. mountain tarn, high lake, clean lower lake, river, stream, snowbath in winter, etc it all works. fancy additives outside of biodegradable camp soap not necessary and not eco-friendly (I prefer castille soap). but above all you learn to accept the grime>>2160139

Just use a brush. Boar's bristles are best, since they redistribute your skinfat. But for such a short duration, any stiff brush will do.
It unclogs your pores to avoid acne and takes of the dirt and dust. Doesn't do anything about the smell, but who cares when you're out?

Dr Bronners and a lightload towel is all you need. Here is what I do every night when i'm /out/.
>Hang sawyer filter as a gravity filter from a tree.
>Wet light load and wipe your whole body down
>Rinse towel occasionally
>Put a few drops of Dr Bronners on the towel and wipe your body down again.
>Asshole gets cleaned last
Mint Dr Bronners feels amazing after a long day of hiking. I don't use to much and I certainly don't get all of it off of me but it works well. My ass gets itchy at night if I don't wipe down at night.
Having some antiodor clothing helps as well. Exofficio boxer briefs and shirt cuts your odor a lot.

I said it retard. Dr Bronners. I literally use it for everything. Soap and toothpaste while camping, shaving cream, surface cleaner, body wash, laundry detergent, and dish soap when home.
