Going pier fishing tomorrow. Does shrimp float? I was going to use a Carolina rig. I know the soft baits I have float not sure about shrimp though. Also I'm in eastern NC so not even sure if shrimp is a good choice

With the carolina rig youre not relying on the bait itself to float indefinitely, instead the slow pulling up of the rod to lift it off the bottom during the slow retrieval is what does it.

Most lures or bait will float indefinitely. Also shrimp will take a few seconds to settle to the bottom, so youre ok. Idk what your target species is so I cant speak to wether its a good choice of bait or not. I do know you wanna leave the shells on or they wont stay on your hook very well. Watch a few JooTube videos on Carolina rigging
