In most slopes there's human activity from the below all the way to the treeline, and even above the treeline there's human activity (i once say farmers collecting forage with pitchforks at more than 1700 m and there are entire villages above the treeline at over 2000 m in Grisons).
Only a very few slopes and remote places are actually sort of virgin, and of course the highest part of rocks and glaciers is mostly untouched.
I often venture in both, often off-season and often off-trail, and while it's easy to avoid people it's not so easy to avoid artificial traces.
I spend entire days on the maps trying to discover the most remote places possible, so my experience is pretty wide.
