Saw these in a CVS a few weeks back. I was in disbelief that there would be a market for them here as our air quality isn't anywhere near Beijing levels of bad. Then I remembered that Americans are stupid enough to buy anything.

Define "high altitude". 20,000 feet or higher (Denali, Kilimanjaro, Chimborazo summits)?
I have no idea about that particular product. Never seen it before.

I see these as more of a first aid application. They’re probably marketing it to sports people I expect.

iirc its only useful in first aid situations, at which point you kinda really need to fucking have someone else there with you to get you to medical attention asap
so if you're with someone old or with lung issues sure, pack one, and use this in case they start getting fucked up and then call the park rangers or some shit

Went on a hike in the mountains (CO) and my friend brought one. I used some of it to see if it'd do anything and my muscles almost instantly became unsore. Stopped working after the first try though, and absolutely not necessary besides first aid situations like the other anons said i suppose

This might have happened because your body had troubles with its Acidity/base balance. Depending on what you ate, how much you drank and what you drank you could have resolved that. Maintain proper elctrolyte Intake (add a bi tof salt to the wate royu drink) For long hikes (longer than 2 hours make sure to eat something with sugar.) Stuff like that can alleviate sore muscles. In your case the Oxygen might have temporarily affected your Acid/base balance.

Its just a theory though. Could be that your body was slightly too acidic and the Oxygen caused a temporary balance.

10k sickness just requires time to acclimate. I don't think this product would help the sickness aspect just a quick relief. The product is made for 15k+ where oxygen is actually limited. But the market is for this coomsoomer product is probably fatties hiking in the Smokies. Serious mountaineers use different products.
