In summer we’d give him an all over trim except his head. He hated it and would sulk for the rest of the day.
We kept the hair around his armpits and belly short year round so he didn’t get grass seeds in it. Some around here are little BB sized things that get stuck everywhere and can work into the skin.
He got one in his ear once that worked it’s way right into his head. Brain surgery for a dog is fucking expensive!
When he was older he got angina, we had to carry medication for him and pop a pill under his tongue whenever he collapsed. He still made it to about 12yo though.
