how feasable is it to get a US green card or citizenship as an unskilled brit? i want to buy some land in the wilderness and build a cabin on it.

i have enough money for the entire project. i just need to know if its legally possible. i dont plan to be very employed while im there, just a bit of driving around in the gig economy every now and then but mostly living a hermit life innawoods

Virtually impossible. See if you can get a student visa or something. Or do a diesel apprenticeship with CAT - the money starts well, gets fucking good, move to sales and earn a small fortune. Plus you get a vehicle, full personal use including on holiday (you cover fuel), fuel card, expenses paid , health insurance, discretionary spending (taking customers out etc.
I had a sales related job, paid about NZ$120k after tax. Machine salesman easily doubled that.
Holiday pay was based on your previous month’s income, so guys would always have an unusually quiet October, file commission claims November, and have a rockstar Christmas holiday.

If you can find some slag that likes the sound of your accent and get her to marry you for a decade, that's basically your only chance. The US doesn't accept unskilled people from white countries unless they are rich.

Liveable yes. Cheap no.

Look at central Otago (near Queenstown but not in it) it’s cold in winter but can be sweltering in summer. Between any of the towns is comparatively cheap, look between Alexandra and Dunedin or Cromwell and Ranfurly.
Id say around Ophir would be pretty cheap it’s a between ranfurly and Cromwell. Heaps to do summer or winter. Lakes, mountains, rivers, hunting. They built a sweet wave at Hawea Flats for kayaking and surfing, see pic.
Get to know a few locals, there’s a surprising number of guys own planes and helicopters that want to keep their licenses current, so there’s a lot of free trips on offer, scenic or to Dunedin or lunch on the west coast type stuff. They’ll generally let you fly too, they just want their logbook filled in.

I spent 10 years at a busy branch, virtually always looking for someone. In the rare times we actually had a full crew and someone good applied, we’d just hire them an figure out what to do with them. Sometimes we’d make a space for them by sending someone to another branch for work or training. They had pretty deep pockets, we’d just book a plane ticket and hotel for them and send their tools up on a truck.
They also have a tool loan scheme where they give you 10k to spend on tools at cost price which you pay off interest free over your time. After 2 years you get ½ back, the other half in another 2.

Canada is a lot easier. Two of my friends have just had their immigration applications accepted as ski instructors with 2-3 years of experience (both English). Another friend of mine got in as a qualified vet with no work experience. For the US, your best bet is genuinely to marry a yank or find $250,000 to invest in US agriculture.

Technically no, but they're not likely to invest anything in tracking you down, so what'll actually happen is that decades later, after you've forgotten about the fact that you aren't there legally, you'll get in a traffic stop for a burned out tailight or something and they'll deport you.
