Do you wear a mask while hiking? Where I live there are no laws that say you have to, but I do anyway except when I am in my camp and know that I won't see anyone until the next day.
It's not even about spreading covid predominantly (chances of transmission occurring on a trail are low) but it's like a friendly gesture to fellow /out/ folk - 'Hey there! I care about you, and we're all in this together'. That said, I don't mind if other hikers don't wear a mask. I assume they wouldn't be around the trail if they thought there was any chance they were sick, and as I said - chances of transmission are low.
