>>2166753I work construction and hike on the weekends. I'm a fat fuck but losing weight.
Multiple pairs of fresh socks, pair of sandals for walking around home/camp- a well worn-in pair of Birkenstocks are really easy on sore feet. At the end of the day I'll wash my feet off if I can, then dry them, then powder them. At home after work I soak my feet in water with epsom salts and then towel dry.
Stretch your ankles, heels/arches and toes every morning right after waking up.
If you're overweight to obese and only hike recreationally, and spend most of your time sitting at work and home there is really nothing you can do for your feet. You can manage blisters, but if you're a fat fuck the joints in your ankles and toes, and your arches and heels will get really fucked up until you strengthen the muscles and ligaments in your feet. It took me like 4 weeks of walking 40-50hrs/week on pavement until the muscles in my feet started getting up to the task. Hiking long distance over flat is nothing to me now.
If you're a skeleton I don't see how you'd have any problems as long as your boots kind of fit.
