The few shelters that were on the trail were pretty nice, I loved looking at the art people drew/carved into it. Everything from a dragon with three sets of boobs to ganja leaves.

Yes. Abbey is fantastic.

I've been city trapped and depressed for the past 2-3 months (more or less), but before that was innawoods for months and was plucking my way through Desert Solitare in earnest, after having read little bits of it here and there over the years.

Im planning on reading that next, just finished Hayduke Lives (my favorite so far). And I know how you feel about being city trapped, my neighbors used to be Amish and since I moved my neighbors live in a huge apartment complex. total 360. I have so much respect for the amish now, its a shame they are so restricted by religion.

Good News by Abbey is really interesting because it about after the collapse of everything AKA THE HAPPENING (if your from /pol/). The main character is basically resisting the techno-phile militia that's trying to reestablish the old system.
