>>2172171Hunting in Australia, no tracks, just along the ridge top, rucksack full of a goatskin (didn't want the meat, so just a fresh skin), saw a fox, fired my last bullet at it, it ducked just in time so missed, walked along the way I had come, found a fresh pig digging. Opps. Walked over the rise and there, six metres away was a young boar, straight barrel shaped body with head on top, not in front, long body, short legs. Never seen anything like it.
About 170kgs, biggest pig I had seen at that time.
I'm upwind of it.
Obviously have a stomach so lot's of juicy intestine.
Fresh goatskin.
Smell divine.
Knife is in rucksack... somewhere...
No bullets.
No tree to climb (I looked).
Pig walks (one or two steps, don't remember) closer but at 45 degree angle.
Decide to fight (don't ask me how).
Pig does an almost 70 degree spin and runs in that rocking gait they have at speed, the instant I decide to fight.
Never heard of anything like it.
Standing there in the late afternoon cool, moist breeze at that altitude, wondering what happened.
Early to mid 90's.
