CWD is bullshit. Its been a thing since the 70s. I have ate and will eat CWD deer in the future as well. There is no evidence that the prion that effects that has any ill effect on humans.

I say this because the bait bans are ridiculous government overreach. They need to admit that food plots or an apple tree are the exact same fucking thing as bait piles or feeders. Most people can only hunt a couple of days a year. Its not like they keep that shit going all fall, especially when most people drive to their lakehouse/hunting property/remote rural areas to hunt since most people live in cities. People should be writing their reps and senators to repeal bait bans on these animals since its utterly ridiculous. CWD is literally made up bullshit "we know about it more now than we did in the 70s". Yeah my ass its just another excuse for the boot to get bigger just like getting all these kids hooked on SSRIs when everyone got by fucking fine without them in the 50s too.
