I picked the wrong days to go camping.

Two days and I'm already tapping out. It's way too hot. I only catch two fish a day. The data here sucks. There's a constant strange sound. I have poison ivy on my ankles and I got chased by a water snake.

I'm glad I have everything needed to survive from my van, but damn is it too hot.

I have a trip planned for a nth from now. Worried about the heat, ngl, this has been a ridiculously hot summer here. Hopefully it cools off a bit, but Mid-August isnt know for being particularly balmy.

Honestly. During the day I just drink gallons of water and sweat does the cooling. Even a small breeze makes it bearable, but at night it's unsleepable until 3 am and then the heat wakes you up as soon as the sun comes up. I'm thinking of getting a swamp cooler, but I doubt that it'd help much.

And what? I don't understand. I fish, but the fishing gets boring after doing it for four hours non stop. Nothing about the enviorment is soothing. It is wild dogs, feral pigs, and snakes. Even the plants conspire to kill me.

The dog was cool though. I gave him the fish's head and he let me pet him.

12 volt fans plus a solar panel anon, you'll go farther and stay cooler. or portable awning/tarp with some collapsible poles. stay out of the sun, drink plenty of water, keep that air moving. also with the fish, you need to find out where the shade or coolest part of the lake/river is, the fish will be hiding out there during these hot days.

Alright, here are some solutions I've thought of.
You know those bead chair covers they make for cars?
Those helps a lot on hot days. Maybe you can find something similar to lay on?
Another thing I would look into is what the 3rd worlders have come with. See what those african guy living in mud huts in 50C heat are sleeping on.

Cut a hole in your van and put a can in it.
"Air Movers" are like industrial fans that work VERY well. It's what I use in my garage on hot days.
Frankly your van needs insulation if you're going to be living in it. I'm assuming it's a money thing, but you can get insulation pretty cheap.
If it's too hot for you, instead of sleeping in the van you might have better lucky closer to the ground. Set up a tarp or awning and cowboy camp with a sleeping pad on the ground.

Back to air movers.If you put a cut in your van for the exhaust of pic rel, it will have no problem sucking the air out of your van and putting it outside. Keep your front two windows open a little so there's and intake and the circulation will help a lot.

Take it from someone who hiked/camped all over the US for 3 straight years: The outdoors is cool, but so is technology.
