>>2176135>Rig up some way to keep the windows open a few inchesI had a Forester, came to suggest that.
Mine had those wee rain shields, Legacy too. Gives you an inch or so, that’s all you need.
Also a plastic box to put wet shoes in, they make a bastard of a mess when it rains and you’re in and out.
Looks up “Subaru self diagnostic” and print the instructions and codes. (They’re reliable over all, but sensors can, and eventually will, fail.)
Check your plastic radiator tanks for cracking, replace with alloy. (Again not a Suby thing - plastic gets brittle over time)
Seat covers because you’re going to spill shit.
Mud catcher floor mats.
I lowered mine several inches, put in a bigger fuel pump, injectors, chip, boost controller, full exhaust. Was pretty rowdy. Never went off-road really, had a work ute for that.
Carry a spare headlight bulb. They’re H4.
Shit pic attached sorry- only took it to send to the cock in the shop that sold me snow chains “nice one dickhead, the size on the box is correct, but these are about 4in too small.”
So yeah, check chains fit before it snows.
Stash a wire coat hanger outside somewhere. I taped one inside rear bumper. If you lock yourself out, you can pull a door window back an inch with your fingers and hook the latch. “Why not tape a spare key” you ask? Tape isn’t exactly foolproof, and a coat hanger is what, 5c and little inconvenience?
Mafia tints for privacy.
That’s all off the top of my head, will let you know if I think of anything else.
Oh reset computer if your in limp mode (THIS IS POTENTIALLY PULLING THE PIN OUT OF A HAND GRENADE)
-Turn car off.
-Turn key off > on > off 3 times at 1sec intervals. (Without starting it)
-Wait a bit, like 20sec. Done.
If it’s like an air, O2 sensor no problem. If it’s a ____ position sensor on the engine I’d be driving pretty gently.
