Shuttlefucks have absolutely destroyed mtbiking. All the trails here with fire road access have been absolutely ass fucked beyond recognition. These tour companies take any asshole with $6k burning a hole in their pocket and seemingly no interest in investing the time to learn how to fucking ride a bike to the top of a trail and let's them do whatever without even a word of encouragement to, say, ride the fucking trail instead of fuck it up because you can't turn without dragging your rear tire along the entire fucking way. This creates massive holes in front of every gentle curve. These gummies also have no idea how to bail if they miss the trail so they slam on the brakes and take the edge of the trail with them. The trails here, which 15 years ago were in excellent condition, have turned into something barely rideable and wit absolutely no onus on the touring companies to fix the damage. It's fucked.
The only trails left worth riding have no shuttlefuck access which would be fine except I have to drive several miles to get to them. A lot of classics have been damaged beyond recognition and I honestly wonder if I would have gotten into this sport had these touring companies existed when I started.
