>>2183479cold weather means
1) change your oil to low temp oil in your vehicle
2) just get 4 season washer fluid all the time
3) get magnetic oil/engine heater, make sure the plugin doesn't hit belts/road when not used(plug in your vehicle, most garages aren't heated)(or wake up and run/waste LOTS of gas to preheat your vehicle)
4) get roof de-shingler for chipping off ice, shovel snow right away if temps go below freezing(otherwise snow SETS) easier to shovel powder versus solid chunks of snow
5) if you are made of money, snowblower will take care of most shoveling issues(especially for your driveway)
6) SALT, but for every large bag/tub of it, buy some GYPSUM(spread this after your winter to prevent salt killing your grass/garden)
7) Wrap your heater/pipes in insulation blankets, seal drafts with calking, install brush strips on doors, wool blankets etc, get a roof rake(with wheels) to remove snow from roof(lots of snowfall CAN collapse roofs, make sure to do it right or your roof will be dinged up/relatives/neighbors will try to pass off their fuckups so they can claim roof damage)
You won't be used to snow/winter weather til 10 years pass. Keep your self photos so you can see/laugh at how much coats/gloves/etc you wore during the small temp drop in the fall.
