I’m moving to Spokane for a new job, and I’ve never been to any part of the inland northwest. How good is east WA/north ID for /out/ activities? I always assumed Washington scenery was ugly outside of the Olympic peninsula but some of the areas north of Spokane look pretty stunning.

If you're willing to drive a bit there are some good spots. Extreme northwestern MT is still pretty remote and relatively unspoiled by tourists/transplants. And there's BC of course.

I'm biased since I'm from Newport, north of Spokane, but I don't think you'll find many places better for /out/ than here
Tons of lakes, good hunting/fishing/hiking/camping with ready access to the Idaho Panhandle and Montana
Great skiing in the winter as well if that's your thing
Spokane gets a bad rap sometimes but it's a nice city and they've done some excellent work downtown recently

lived in Post Falls for a while. Theres tons of shit to do all over the area and Idaho is only about 30 minutes away by car from Spokane. Fishing, biking, hiking, hunting, shooting, swimming, fucking everything. Spokane's an absolute cesspool though

INW has all kinds of out stuff. Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and Route of the Hiawathas are awesome in Idaho. Stay away from Dishman Hills in Spokane Valley or you will get raped in the homeless camps or step on a dirty needle. Even the cops avoid it.

I bought a car in Spokane once. Stayed in a motel for a few days. Probably one of the most dangerous places i’ve ever been, out of 29 countries lmao… I heard Seattle busses the homeless out there.
