I only collect things that I both like, have some intrinsic value and can use. They include:
Guns - mostly older pistols/revolvers/hunting arms to take /out/. The handier and compact the better.
Film cameras - Do a ton of hiking & landscape photo. I love small vintage 35mm rangefinders. I develop and scan myself.
Tobacco pipes - All estate pipes. Mostly Falcon, Kirsten and other system pipes. Also love Peterson and small cobs.
Military gear - Only practical gear like firearms, tools, cook gear, clothing, etc. Try not too look like a larper.
Lanterns - Mostly Dietz vintage models but also carbide lamps. Have a farmhouse in the coal region of the US so yeah.
Canteens - This was not planned but somehow I swear I have 30 of them somewhere.
Antique traps - Took a trap class last year and already have a bucket of old traps for coons. Long springs too.
Knives - Only fleshing, Kephart, french/butcher, cooking, small pocket, hunting/skinning and Leatherman. Tactical things are soulless.
