I'm planning a road-trip for the NE this October. Looking to stop in upstate NY, VT, NH, RH, DE, and ME. Leaving from Virginia, heading straight north. I've got 10 days of leave to go camping, fishing, hiking, etc. What are your recommendations for best spots here and there, must see trails, ridgelines, honey holes, and small town bars? Earlier this summer I took my first 9 day solo-camping trip in WV (pic related) and absolutely loved it. Looking to do something again and see the fall in a region I've never been to.

>>2189361 >What are your recommendations go back to West Virginia. There's thousands of trails and areas you have yet to explore that will be beautiful in fall. You will waste much more time driving if you insist on heading up north and it will be much more crowded.

>>2189370 I plan to do that as well, I just haven't seen the northern states yet and need to knock them off the list. I've heard they're best in the fall as well. I'm at 43/50 right now Anonymous

>honey holes no ones going to give you that
>>2189370 Begone DC deciduous homo!

>>2189381 Thanks anon, I'll reward your assistance with my comfiest photo from Baker's run. Great pike fishing if you're into that

He'll ruin them by listing them on alltrails and inviting beltwaycucks over there

>>2189381 You have ten days and you’re going to drive and hike all those mountains? Sure… did you get your parking pass for Baxter state park yet?

>>2189440 Definitely not going to get through all of them, but just looking for options and general areas I want to be in. Not a big itinerary guy, just trying to build a checklist I guess
Military gets free passes for all national and state parks, so I'm set until next summer when I have to renew

>>2189381 If you're going to Mt Washington you may want to consider hiking Franconia Ridge instead and just drive up Washington. Franconia Ridge can be a bit crowded so try to hit it on a weekday. Definitely worth it. Also, you may want to consider hiking the Bigelow's in southern Maine. Baxter Peak is insane. There's tons of good hiking in the northeast.
