Also your photo of rural America isn't even that bad, many Europeans would call that cutesy also. It's just you've grown up with that so you don't appreciate it, people always lust after strange and unknown things without appreciation for what they have.

Holland is actually my favourite foreign country I've visited because it was so beautiful (apart from Amsterdam, fuck Amsterdam). So not necessarily just for tourists. But you're right about there being no wilderness.
