So I've heard through word of mouth from some old timers that their fathers used to have 10-15ft poles with mono or braided line and they would put a nymph on the end and tightline let it drift downstream and would come home with 20+ fish

I'm not a fly fisher but I'm curious if anyone has ever tried anything similar (not tenkara) they have to be wet flies cause I also heard amongst these people that they only used wet flies never dry
