Sup /out/ what emergency gear do you carry with you on your runs? Pic related is rather overkill but Summer is ending and there's trails without phone signal so I want to be prepared.

I don't go through areas that warrant a small pistol, although it's not unreasonable regarding dogs
you shouldn't carry a day hike amount for a run, your running ability is the main preparation
Also, I hear your joins will turn into caramel, literally

Most I'd bring for +20 mile mountain runs spring to autumn is hooded lightweight jacket, gloves, foil blanket, buff, stretch bandage, head torch and phone and headphones, whistle (litre of water and purification tablets in case). Winter I swap out for thicker gloves, top, tights, socks, shoes

20km tops but I clearly said that pic was overkill, it's one of the first pics on a trail running kit google image search.
That's not paracord though.

I bought a cheap Aonije running vest 2 years ago, its almost a one to one design copy of a popular Salomon one, its still as good as it was when I bought, can't beat the price for quality so I dont feel the need to upgrade yet. Running with backpacks is hell to me, they dont distribute wieght around your torso like a vest

Looks good and considering the materials are probably sourced from the same place there's no point paying premium for branding.
