Photos and a Story

No.2197783 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hi,

I'll post my photos from my last two /out/ings and accompany each post with my recollection of events.

My brother and I got a late start on Saturday to our overnight backpacking trip. The hike started with around 4km distance and 900m of elevation gain on a trail that out-of-work loggers had built decades ago. You could tell they had put a summer's worth of work into the trail back then, but the stone steps were falling out of place and wooden boardwalks and bridges were becoming dilapidated.

It had rained the prior night and the trail was overgrown in parts, so we got soaked on our way up to the first lake. There were several spots to pit h a tent here but we pushed on. The trail petered out and we began bushwhacking to the second lake where we'd camp.

Picrel is my brother catching his breath at the first lake. We tend to go all gas and no brakes when we're starting our hikes.
