Not even kidding, I know multiple people who did this to get started with self-sufficiency. The usual climatechange idiots all believe that ruining land by overgrazing is somehow natural and good for biodiversity, so even if the sheep stay in the same spot until there's no grass left, and are fed constantly with fodder fromoutside the fence, they won't complain.
There's also one group of people around here who take it a step further, and graze their sheep on "unused" lots (lots with old fruit trees, which around here are usually only mowed right before the harvest) without permission, then demand the harvest in return for "taking care" of the land. They haven't tried that shit on my land yet, so I have no legal grounds to stop them, and the old guys whose land they use don't want to start a lawsuit over a few fruits and some grass.
