Is MSR Hubba NX 1 Backpacking Tent a good starter tent? Should I maybe get something a little more heavier but more durable against rookie mistakes I will very likely make?
Any other similar recommendations? Any similar 1 person tent that you would swear by?

You can only swear by hilleberg tents the rest are subpar.

Nemo ones are nice too though. Would take nemo dagger or dragonfly over hubba anyday

Yes, MSR makes very good gear. The Hubba series is famous for good reason, but you might think about the 2P version as it's hard to regret exra room.

My only advice for you is that don’t get a one person tent, they are miserable.
Just get the 2 person one and be done with all your tent woes forever.

Nemo, Big Agnes etc. aren't always available outside the US. MSR Hubba Hubba is a good tent in its price range, and if you can't get some other brands, it may be the best on your market. It's easy to use, lightweight, sturdy in bad weather... But OP, do get the 2P version unless you really, really need to save weight. For just a few extra 10s of dollars you get more space, and the possibility to bring a friend.

True, but nemo is widely available in europe. You can find their tents and sleeping bags on bergfreunde, specksports or other websites, and shipping is usually free or just a few euros on orders 300€+.

From what I've heard and seen msr quality went down recent yeads, and big agnes is just a stupid murican luxury brand, you can't even find material denier or pole thickness on their tents.

Youre never gonna need other tents for anything. Lanshan for long distance/trekking stuff and the Hilleberg or Fjällraven for anything else and 4 season use
