but recently the more i go innawoods the more i've got a serious crack in my faith and often it occures to me this is all just fucking LARPing that originates from the romanticization of earlier ages and from escapism.
nature and these beautiful environments i visit to feel "home" used to be the fucking Arena to our ancestors where they fought for survival every day.
just like the average bugman wagie does in the workshop or in the office hive today.
gatherers, hunters, trappers, fishermen, charcoal burners, limestone burners, loggers, miners, livestock herders spent most of their days in the woods / on the fields but not because they wanted to sit down after the 12 hours "shift" and vibe and get some spiritual experience.
they were not content with their miserable stick and stone huts. (unlike niggers and amazonians)
they didn't even try memes like stealth camping.
with all of their actions they tried to break nature and create safer, more comfortable environments.
they worked hard, acquired goods or currency to build solid, comfortable homes that protected them and their family where they could settle down in their old days.
a nice crackling fire in the hearth, ample food on the table, happy kids, lusty breeder wife, comfy bed, this was all they wanted.
not some fucking esoteric contact with the pine needle sticking in their ass or with the spirit of the rabbit that's gonna be in their stew for the 7th motherfucking time this week.
and now we just go /out/ there in our modern gear and either pretend it's some feat to make a fucking camp for a couple days or seek some enlightenment by staring at a mountain lake.
tl;dr ever since some furtive pygmy discovered fire and the perks of hiding in a cave we don't belong in nature at all.
