Not sure who you're referring to when you say "our," but it's not on anyone born after 1980 for sure. Fire suppression and climate change are driving the wildfires we're seeing now, so there are a lot of individuals and organizations who are at fault. Regardless of the reason, I don't think there's any justification for just letting that tree burn, or even taking the risk of it burning despite its fire resistance.
