>>2236680Because you train your body to learn off "intuition" which is more your gut processing the information. I imagine other outlier sensory perception.
Language and the Mind processing is limited and an absolute timesink. It's significantly faster, more comprehensive, and genuine to you to learn by pure experimentation.
Further
Everything is adaptation. If you force your body to make sense of things without shocking it TOO much and introducing in small quantities, it will begin to do so.
Akin to placebo, if you believe you can process it, your body will believe so too.
More
What your body can process is different from mine. What you've adapted to eat is different.
The surrounding soil, plant life, animals, etc. Will also effect the plant. Internet will say "x tomato=edible" but there is WAY more at play that words cannot encapsulate and that you must feel out
Leading me to a final point I'll make, though I could make more.
Nature is not static. The information you read from yesteryear may not be "in play" or relevant today.
I didn't expect to get a genuine explorative answer in here and I'm not surprised since society and the internet has domesticated everyone.
You can eat small quantities of most anything nd the worst you'll get is upset stomach. Even that is your body not having an established adaptation. It's not difficult to create enzymes for really any plant matter.
People freak out about wild plants being poisonous but in truth there's only very few, and the indigenous would say the antidote is generally within 30 meters
These responses just remind me why I avoid domesticated hivemind
