Friggin epic and based anon.
I’m doing the same thing in UT but fallout. Gonna be carrying a full combat load and hiking in the middle of nowhere. Got a nice new AR for it and everything, and we have so much BLM land I don’t expect to be bothered.

I did the Pinhoti Trail and pretended to be an Australian tourist. Spent the entire time in accent, and it was so convincing it got me laid by some hippie girl with a fondness for Steve Irwin. The best part is im Mexican, and every one i met thought i was a legit Aussie. I guess watching Crocodile Dundee and The Big Les Show all the time really paid off...

I've actually wanted to try similar when I'm in an unfamiliar place but I worry about keeping character the whole time.
I really like the idea that I can literally change my whole background/character so long as I'm not around anybody I know.

Cool anon, My friends and I did a two week trip where we pretended to be Chernarussian students that were getting one last hike in before our student visas expired and we had to go back home to get drafted into the army for the ongoing civil war. Two of my friends are fluent in russian so it made the larp way more convincing. We had so many hippies offer to shelter us in the US so we didnt have to go to war but we just said unlike americans we knew our duty to our (fictional) country and were prepared to fight for it.

Have always wanted to do a march and camp somewhere in the Appalachians dressed as 15th-18th century musketeers, with canvas tents and woolen bedrolls and such. Full Black powder loads and muskets of course.

Unless you are going to immerse yourself in German, either through contact with german speakers who agree to only speak german around you, or by visiting/living in germany, don't wait for fluency. Fluency is a great goal, but you need the immersion to reach it. If that isn't in the cards right now, start on the russian.

It isn't. I once met a guy who can speak 12 languages including mandarin but he wasn't really fluent in any of them. But he'd try his best to strike up a conversation with a native in their tongue whenever possible.
