We tied a bunch of canoes together with ropes and long pkles, then we put a tent on it and launched it into a pretty big lake/rive, they were aluminium canoes so they ducked all Hest away from you, we ate cup noodles and drank snaps
We had to wear our pfd's even when going to bed for ... reasons, even if it would have gone down everyone would have been fucked, so, sleeping on a thing yoga mat style pad, wearing a pfd, in a freezing cold aluminium canoe, face centimeters away from the crossbreed of the canoe
Glad I did it, but you couldn't på me to do it again, worst night sleep of my life, even worse then the night I almost fucking froze to death a few weeks later

Hiking in the Smokies during the summer. A day hiking couple was throwing food at a fucking black bear that was about 25 feet off the trail. Thanks to that shit, the shelter that was nearby was closed by the park jannies.

On a 40 mile day with a team from school, across Dartmoor (First day of Ten Tors 55). Had shingles and a broken rib, mentally AFK on opioid painkillers. The next day carrying a girls ruck on my chest while she has asthma attacks for 20 odd miles. Really fucking enjoyed it but I haven’t really had many bad experiences being /out/ except for just being cold and/or wet, so I guess it’s my ‘worst’.

Pic related was probably a worse day /out/ but I was black out drunk for most of it so I don’t remember.

on our way back the gf tried to help her bf carry stuff, he had a rage fit, and pushed her off, she fell into water trashing her phone.
bf then insisted on doing it all himself, and twisted his ankle
refused anyone else to help
raged the entire time at her for making him fuck his ankle up
slowed us down by 4 hours with his limping
she cried a bunch
shit mood for everyone
5 hour drive back was all in silence

Backpacking the great sand dunes with my obese wife. My backpack must've been a solid 80lbs and the tent reeked of fish all night until the morning to find out we forgot the coffee filters in sub freezing temps.

Camping in a cave during the polar vortex winter. A buddy and me were hanging out in this crappy shelter with a wood burning stove inside. We stayed up late drinking heavily. It finally got so cold on our backs that the stove wasn't keeping us warm, not even while we were huddled around it. I think the temp was about -20f that night. We retreated to the cave on site to camp, which stays 52 degrees all year. What made it bad was that a cold fog rolled over top of us at some point during the night. It crept across the floor about 1,000 feet into the cave. I woke up cold af, and I had the worst dry mouth of my life. We didn't bring any water into the cave either. It was bad.
