Based on a quick look in the catalog, 5 out of the 12 OC threads on /out/ have an anime or anime-related OP.

That means anime posters are generating 40% of the OC on this board. Is it true that watching anime encourage going outdoors?

It's likely not a causation of it, but seeing something that is do-able yourself is a great motivator. I can't shoot grappling hooks and fight giant titans with swords, but I sure can put some camping gear into a pack and go walk around for a day.
I like it, and there is no reason not to. It is not unlike another type of posting on this board that does not generate reliability or content for /out/

I think a lot of election tourist newfags don't realize that 4chan was always an anime website.
