First time posting, please help me with this /out/, my gf and I have been camping in a tent in Western Nrw York state very close to a suburban center, Every night for the past 3 nights we've experienced a ton of animal clue by our campsite.

This is not bear country, we don't hear any noises like breathing or sniffing when it's nearby. There are some kind of dog pack nearby, foxes, owls, racoon etc native to this area and that's all I know of. But this thing is only active at night, were thinking maybe a stray cat because we usually only hear it when it walks over something like my rain jacket
