The fruit I bring with me in Tupperware.
I'm scared of eating some wild berry and shitting myself to death in the woods. I know nearly nothing about plants but I sure love looking at all the different types.

If anyone has a field guide recommendation, send it my way!

we used to have about an acre of red and black raspbreeze that grew behind the house in the old horse paddock. would spend hours harvesting them in summer, they were delicious

You're most likely thinking of oxalis, also called wood sorrel. All parts of the plant are tasty like that, the seed pods are especially fun.

wild strawberries are the best shit there is, unfortunately at least around here they only grow in small quantities so it's a tasty snacc but not something you can really harvest
for things that grow enough to actually fill up buckets with I'd have to go with evergreen huckleberries, red huckleberries are alright too but they are a pain to pick because the berries grow singly instead of in bunches and I prefer the tartness of the regular ones
gooseberries are good too if you can deal with the spines, but they mostly only grow up in the mountains here and are also not very abundant

I'm still rather new to sampling wild plants, but gooseberries have been a pleasant delight whenever I find them.

Cloudberries nice! Don't see people talk about them often. Alpine powder blue huckleberries are my favorite, though I do love a good thimbleberry too.
