So say I'm a single guy with no children nor debt nor car/mortgage payment. And I have just purchased 20 acres of high-quality pasture in a warm sunny subtropical climate in the rural southeastern U.S. Is it absurd to consider raising sheep for a living? For milk/meat.
The reason sheep appeal to me is because, from what I've researched:
>they grow and mature faster than cattle = faster flock growth
>they do better on just graze than goats
>their milk is more nutritious and calorie dense then both goat and cattle
>they winter better than cattle
>lighter weight and thus easier to handle than cattle
>easier to fence than both goats and cattle
So what should I expect?
