Thinking about doing this.
My set up would be:
- 2006/2005/2004 Jeep Wrangler with 3" lift kit and offroad tires (will only buy a jeep with less than 40k miles as I would be putting on thousands traveling)
- Cooler in the back for food
- Storage container in the back for dry food, water, clothes, phone charger, outdoors gear, etc.
- Roof rack with tent on top
- Winch on the front in case I get stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere idaho
- Trailer hitch ski rack
- Extra gas can on the back
- small generator for wintertime to run an electric heater (will opt to sleep inside the back of the jeep instead of the tent in winter) I did this with my current wrangler in a snowstorm last winter when it was -1 outside and I was cozy. Much better than a gas heater where I'll die from muh carbon monoxide. I think it's worth lugging a 3000 watt generator around for that.
What else am I missing boys
Also...
With this set up it is:
- more mobile than a van or rv
- much much MUCH easier and cheaper maintenance than a van or rv
- able to go places vans or rvs can't (to get away from normies reeeee)
- cheaper than van life and rv boomer life in general
- basically just paying the same expenses as always for a car like insurance (much more in gas though) and then your phone bill and food. That is all of your expenses. Maybe also a couple hundred a month for a campground here and there.
What do you think
I know it's retarded and I am a larper
