Anyone else into bicycle touring?

I'll graduate in a few months from college, but I really don't feel like getting a job for a while.

I've been commuting to college 120 miles/week for the past 4 years, but I've never been on a trip to be honest.

Any tips on frugal living while riding a bike across the continent?

I'm planning to stealth camp.

There's a ton of good advice on the internet. Just remember you need a pannier to store food (buy staples from grocery stores), bottle mounts for 2 1.5 liter bottles, and only one set of clothes. You won't need saddlebags, just the pannier. Consider a camera and an e-reader to while the days away in the woods. If you want to save money:
1. Stealth camp. You're already ahead of the game if you want this.
2. Don't go to restaurants. You can live for a day on the money it costs to get someone to prepare a meal for you if you do the work yourself, at least in the USA.

As far as training goes, I highly recommend taking a few weekend tours before you leave. Yeah, it's possible to just leave and figure things out as you go, but you'll end up wanting to get rid of a lot of stuff and buy things you didn't think you would need. This can also give you a rough idea for your daily range with gear. Obviously, terrain and wind matter a lot, but knowing whether the trip will take you 6 months or a year will impact your budget planning significantly.

Also, as far as the pan-America trip goes, you're going to end up spending a lot of money in Mexico. I've heard that stealth camping is next to impossible in large stretches of it because people like to fence off their property. Also, tap water isn't potable.

Have waterproof gear. Nothing sucks more than getting rained on for days and having your hands and feet swell up with water and go numb because the water is fucking cold. Your gear would probably appreciate staying dry too.

It's called 'stealth' camping because you generally don't want the owners of the land to know that you're there, so that they can't tell you to leave.

Also, at least in much of the USA, it's legal to do so, so long as you don't pass 'no trespassing' signs or climb over fences or the like.

Whenever a group of people get together it's for a reason, many a reason epople do this. To remember, party, prey, hunt, whatever, but there is always an aposing party, if not as a physical preseants, but when there is a phisical one, there is always trouble, there is always law enforcment, there are always rules to be folowed buy people in all roles. You must stick to the law.

Does the law make us civalized?
Are we civilized by killing muslims? are muslims civilized by flying plains into the towers?

I still fail to see how you can justify this word/meaning. I do not think it should exist.

We rape this earth and eachother, kill for food, greed and pleasure.
I'll admit to being a hipacrit living in this so called civilized group or mamuls that i do care for one or two of my fellow humans, but i would call it living as a slave.

Depending on your area, you would want a best to suit it. From my personal experience, a light tent that is well ventilated works perfect in Florida summers. Also a tarp to cover the tent when it rains.

If you do go on this journey. You must bring a camera.
