I've driven by it plenty of times. It's not really an area I've thought worth going to, though. There's no tree cover, it's just scrub and a small reservoir. Nothing to make it stand out over the much larger Lake Hodges, or Lake Poway which has a landscaped park and some tree cover along Green Valley trail. Just driving Harmony Grove road is going to be a better time.
If you're looking for a hike, Mt. Woodson's far better, with an excellent view from the top, but always crowded.
